Microsoft has confirmed as of 6 November that it will cease distribution and sale of its accounting package Microsoft Office Accounting.
The Microsoft accounting product which was launched in 2006 in the United States has failed to really build any market share and only had 10,000 customers in the UK which apparently are being taken over by Mamut. The deal offers these Microsoft customers a free upgrade to Mamut Business Software.
Is this another example of Microsoft losing their way strategically?
