If you operate as a limited company, you will probably be aware of the late filing penalties that have existed for some years. These were levied by Companies House when accounts were filed later than their due date, (normally 10 months after the end of the financial year for a private company).

In my formative years as a newly qualified accountant, the mantra “cash is king” was something that was spoken about on a regular basis. In latter years, and particularly in the current economic climate, this is something that is being spoken about more and more.
